There are two Before and After School wrap around provisions available at Charlton.
A-BASC (Acorns Before and After School Club) - this is run and managed directly by the school.

A-BASC
Catering for children aged 3-11, A-BASC, is run and administered directly by the school and operates within our Pre-School nursery base called 'Acorns'.
Based within our Acorns Pre-school base, A-BASC, is a breakfast and after school club that provides stimulating, child-initiated activities within a safe, friendly, inclusive environment. A-BASC operates in harmony with the Charlton’s values and ethos. Children can relax and spend time with other children on activities like board games, drawing, painting, construction and reading. We think of A-BASC as a ‘home from home’ space, which is less structured than the school day.
A-BASC is managed by Lorraine Brew.
All staff are DBS checked and are committed to on-going training and professional development.
Payments can be made via the Government's tax free child care scheme.
Requesting a place
Both Breakfast and After School Club sessions are very popular, and we operate a waiting list for those parents requiring regular sessions. Should you wish to enquire about a place, please contact the school via email or phone.
Ad hoc sessions are available. We contact our school office to request a place.

* Please note we are currently unable to offer the option of using spare/left over 3 to 4 years old childcare funding for our Before and After School Club.

Charlton Breakfast and After School Club
Catering for Children in Reception to Year 6 Charlton Breakfast and After School club is run and administered independently.
Based on site within the Charlton Primary school building we offer easy transition for the children at the beginning and end of their day.
We follow the PARS playwork theory, which is child led play without influence from adults. We actively encourage the children to follow the school values, Happiness, Kindness, Responsibilty, to ensure a consistent approach throughout their day. We aim to provide each individual child with a wealth of resources and activities to encourage their creative urges. The children can freely access indoor and outdoor play with spaces to relax, enjoy a book or quiet game, play football, ride a bike or use the outdoor play equipment.
We offer a variety of breakfast choices including Toast, Cereals and boiled eggs. At After School Club we offer a hot meal prepared on site. Menus are provided to parents at the start of each term.

Breakfast Club: 7:45 -8.40am (Children are taken to class by BC staff)
After School Club: 3.15 – 6pm
