On Monday 15th June, the choir, led by KA’s music teacher, Jennie Baxter, were priviliged to sing at Dorchester Abbey. They performed alongside 9 other Oxfordshire school choirs as part of the 2015 Festival of Voices. The children sang their hearts out and were an absolute credit to the school.

On the last day of term, both recorder groups performed to other children in the school.

On Monday 2nd March, 2 teams entered an interschool netball tournament at King Alfred’s school.
Their coach, Yolanda Owen described the children’s experience…
What a successful afternoon. The girls were a credit to the school, really well behaved and demonstrating great team spirit and sportsmanship.
The Charlton B team didn’t make it through the first round of 3 matches, but they worked hard, kept on smiling and stayed to support the A team.
The Charlton A team won all of their 3 first round matches. The quarter finals against Uffington were close, 4 -4 at full time and going into a “golden goal” extra time – WE WON
The semi finals were also tough against Millbrook: 4-4 with just a few seconds to go and then they popped another one in just before the whistle.
The final was against Stockham, we were leading 4-0 at half time and went on to WIN 5-1.
They all have participation certificates to receive in assembly and there is also a lovely big trophy for the school.”
The next round is in two weeks. Well Done Girls!
